Giveaway Eligibility
What Does One and Done Mean?
Once a participant wins a drawing for a One and Done giveaway, that participant is removed from eligibility for all subsequent drawings held for the same giveaway. Winning does not affect eligibility for other giveaways unless their rules state otherwise.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
No purchase, payment, deposit, appointment, or other financial transaction is necessary to enter or win a Cryptic Ink® giveaway. Making a purchase, booking an appointment, or purchasing any service or product from Cryptic Ink® will not increase your chances of winning.
Cryptic Ink® giveaways are meant to be fun, legitimate, and fair.
The basic rule is simple:
Complete the tasks. Earn the entries. Don’t try to game the system.
These Official Giveaway Rules apply to giveaways conducted by Cryptic Ink® unless a specific giveaway expressly provides different or additional rules.
1. ACCEPTANCE OF THESE RULES
By opting into, entering, participating in, completing a task for, or otherwise participating in a Cryptic Ink® giveaway, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Official Giveaway Rules, along with any additional terms displayed on the individual giveaway page.
If you do not agree to these rules, do not participate.
Cryptic Ink® reserves the right to determine eligibility and enforce these rules in order to protect the integrity and fairness of its giveaways.
2. ELIGIBILITY
Unless a specific giveaway states otherwise, participants must:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry;
- Provide accurate and truthful participant information;
- Have the legal ability to participate in the giveaway and receive the offered prize;
- Be able to personally redeem a service-based prize at Cryptic Ink® when required; and
- Comply with these Official Rules and any requirements listed for the individual giveaway.
Employees, artists, contractors, agents, or other individuals directly involved in administering or selecting the winner of a giveaway may be excluded from participation at the discretion of Cryptic Ink®.
Giveaways are void where prohibited or restricted by law.
3. HOW ENTRIES ARE EARNED
Unless otherwise stated on the individual giveaway page, each eligible task successfully completed and verified is worth one (1) giveaway entry.
Tasks may include actions such as interacting with Cryptic Ink® content, visiting designated pages, participating in studio activities, submitting information, referrals, or completing other activities displayed on the giveaway page.
Completing one task does not automatically complete another task.
An entry is not considered valid merely because a participant claims that a task has been completed.
The task must actually be completed and must be verified by Cryptic Ink® staff before the corresponding entry becomes eligible for the final drawing.
If a specific giveaway requires all listed tasks to be completed, that requirement will be clearly identified on that giveaway's page.
4. MANUAL VERIFICATION OF ENTRIES
Cryptic Ink® does not rely solely upon automated systems to determine whether giveaway tasks have been legitimately completed.
Entries and task completions are reviewed by actual Cryptic Ink® staff.
Because verification is performed manually, approval may not occur immediately.
A task may remain marked as pending, awaiting verification, or otherwise unconfirmed while our staff reviews it.
Participants should not repeatedly perform, resubmit, or attempt to manipulate a task simply because verification has not yet occurred.
Verification takes time.
Cryptic Ink® may review any information reasonably necessary to determine whether a task was legitimately completed, including participant information, submitted evidence, account information, referral information, timestamps, publicly visible activity, and other information associated with the task.
A task that cannot reasonably be verified may be denied.
5. TASKS MUST BE GENUINELY COMPLETED
If you claim an entry, the associated task must actually have been completed.
Submitting a task as complete when it has not been completed may result in removal of that entry.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Claiming to follow an account that you do not follow;
- Claiming to have visited, viewed, submitted, registered for, or completed something that you did not;
- Submitting false information;
- Providing altered or misleading screenshots;
- Reversing an action before it can be verified;
- Using fake accounts to complete tasks;
- Submitting fabricated referrals; or
- Attempting to obtain credit for another person's activity.
For continuing tasks, such as following an account, the applicable action may be required to remain valid through verification and winner selection unless otherwise stated.
6. ONE PERSON MEANS ONE PERSON
Creating multiple participant profiles, identities, email addresses, social media accounts, or other accounts for the purpose of obtaining duplicate entries is prohibited.
One human participant may not pretend to be multiple participants.
Cryptic Ink® may combine, invalidate, or disqualify entries when multiple profiles or accounts are reasonably determined to belong to the same individual and were created to manipulate the giveaway.
Legitimate use of multiple platforms does not itself violate this rule when separate platform tasks are offered by Cryptic Ink®.
7. REFERRAL ABUSE
When referrals are offered as a giveaway task or entry opportunity, referrals must represent genuine individuals.
The following are prohibited:
- Referring yourself through another account;
- Creating fake people or accounts;
- Using temporary or fabricated email addresses for fake participants;
- Coordinating fraudulent referrals;
- Paying for fake referrals;
- Using bots or automated referral systems;
- Generating referrals through misleading or deceptive means; or
- Otherwise manufacturing referral activity that does not represent legitimate participants.
Cryptic Ink® may verify both the referring participant and referred participant before awarding an entry.
8. CHEATING, MANIPULATION & ABUSE
Cryptic Ink® has zero interest in rewarding someone who wins by manipulating the system.
Any attempt to cheat, manipulate, circumvent, exploit, interfere with, or artificially influence a Cryptic Ink® giveaway may result in immediate disqualification.
Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
- Bots, scripts, macros, automation, or other automated entry methods;
- Fake or duplicate accounts;
- Multiple identities;
- Fabricated participant information;
- False task-completion claims;
- Altered or falsified screenshots or evidence;
- Fake followers, likes, comments, referrals, or engagement;
- Self-referrals disguised as another individual;
- Coordinated fraudulent participation;
- Exploiting software bugs or technical vulnerabilities;
- Attempting to bypass entry limitations;
- Tampering with Cryptic Ink® giveaway systems;
- Attempting to improperly alter an entry count;
- Interfering with another participant's entries;
- Impersonating another person;
- Providing intentionally false information;
- Harassing staff regarding verification or winner selection;
- Attempting to pressure or influence Cryptic Ink® staff; or
- Any other conduct that Cryptic Ink® reasonably determines undermines the fairness or integrity of the giveaway.
Cryptic Ink® reserves the right to investigate suspicious activity before, during, or after a giveaway.
9. DISQUALIFICATION & FUTURE GIVEAWAY BAN
If Cryptic Ink® reasonably determines that a participant deliberately cheated, committed fraud, manipulated the giveaway, abused the entry system, or intentionally attempted to obtain entries they were not entitled to receive, Cryptic Ink® may:
- Remove individual entries;
- Remove all entries belonging to the participant;
- Disqualify the participant from the current giveaway;
- Revoke a winner selection discovered to have resulted from prohibited activity; and/or
- Permanently prohibit that individual from participating in future Cryptic Ink® giveaways.
Creating a new account after being banned does not restore eligibility.
Attempts to circumvent a giveaway ban may result in the new account and associated entries being removed as well.
Cryptic Ink® would rather award the prize to someone with fewer legitimate entries than reward someone with hundreds of fake ones.
Play fair and you have nothing to worry about.
10. ENTRY COUNTS
The number displayed in a participant profile or giveaway interface may include pending, unverified, or otherwise provisional activity.
The final eligible entry count is the number of entries successfully verified and accepted by Cryptic Ink® after review.
Cryptic Ink® may correct an entry count when an error, duplicate entry, invalid task, fraudulent activity, technical issue, or verification issue is discovered.
A temporary displayed entry count does not create a right or entitlement to those entries.
11. WINNER SELECTION
Unless a giveaway is expressly identified as a skill-based contest or uses another stated selection method, the potential winner will be selected at random from all eligible and verified entries received before the giveaway closes.
Each verified eligible entry represents one opportunity in the drawing.
The odds of winning depend upon the total number of eligible verified entries received.
Pending or unverified entries are not guaranteed to be included in the drawing.
Cryptic Ink® may allow reasonable time after a giveaway closes for staff to finish manually reviewing outstanding entries before conducting the final drawing.
The giveaway closing does not necessarily mean the winner will be selected immediately.
We verify first.
Then the darkness chooses.
12. POTENTIAL WINNER VERIFICATION
Being selected in a drawing makes an individual a potential winner until eligibility and entry validity have been confirmed.
Cryptic Ink® may require a potential winner to provide information reasonably necessary to confirm:
- Identity;
- Age;
- Eligibility;
- Participant profile information;
- Task completion;
- Contact information; and
- Ability to receive the prize.
Identification may be required before a service-based prize is performed.
If a potential winner cannot be verified, violated these rules, provided materially false information, or is otherwise ineligible, that individual may be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected.
13. WINNER NOTIFICATION
Potential winners will be contacted using information associated with their participant profile or through another method identified on the giveaway page.
Participants are responsible for maintaining accurate contact information.
Unless otherwise stated, a potential winner should respond to Cryptic Ink® within 72 hours of the initial winner notification.
Failure to respond within the required period may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternate winner.
Cryptic Ink® is not responsible for messages that are blocked, filtered, sent to spam, overlooked, or otherwise not received because of inaccurate participant information or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
14. THE PRIZE
The specific prize offered will be described on the individual giveaway page.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
Prizes have no cash redemption value.
A prize:
- Cannot be exchanged for cash;
- Cannot be exchanged for a gift card;
- Cannot be exchanged for store credit;
- Cannot be sold or auctioned;
- Cannot be redeemed for a different service solely because the winner would prefer something else;
- Cannot be transferred to another person without prior written approval from Cryptic Ink®; and
- May only be redeemed for the specific product, service, session, or benefit identified in the giveaway.
No cash substitute will be provided if the winner chooses not to use the prize.
No cash will be paid for any unused portion of a service or session.
The prize is exactly that—a prize.
It is not a check, not a bank balance, and not a Cryptic Ink® gift card.
15. SERVICE-BASED PRIZES
When a prize consists of tattooing, piercing, artwork, studio time, or another Cryptic Ink® service, the winner remains subject to all normal health, safety, identification, consent, scheduling, and studio requirements applicable to that service.
Winning a giveaway does not override professional judgment or studio safety policies.
Cryptic Ink® and its artists may refuse or modify a requested service when reasonably necessary because of health or safety concerns, legal restrictions, requested subject matter, placement, technical feasibility, artist limitations, or other legitimate professional considerations.
Winning a tattoo-related giveaway does not guarantee that every requested tattoo, size, placement, style, or design will be accepted.
Any additional services, upgrades, time, products, or work beyond the stated prize are not included unless Cryptic Ink® expressly agrees otherwise.
The winner is never required to purchase an upgrade in order to receive the prize as originally offered.
16. SCHEDULING & REDEMPTION
Service prizes are subject to appointment availability.
Winners must cooperate with Cryptic Ink® in scheduling the prize and must comply with normal studio appointment policies.
Unless a different redemption period is stated on the individual giveaway, a service prize must be scheduled and redeemed within 180 days of winner notification.
Failure to redeem the prize within the applicable period may result in forfeiture unless Cryptic Ink® approves an extension.
Once scheduled, normal cancellation, rescheduling, conduct, and no-show policies may apply.
Repeated failure to schedule, failure to appear, or abuse of the scheduling process may result in forfeiture of the prize.
Travel, lodging, transportation, meals, gratuities, parking, and other incidental expenses are the responsibility of the winner unless expressly included in the giveaway description.
17. TAXES
A prize may have a fair market value even though it cannot be redeemed for cash.
Any federal, state, or local taxes or reporting obligations associated with receiving a prize are the responsibility of the winner to the extent required by law.
Cryptic Ink® may request tax or identification information when legally required in connection with awarding or reporting a prize.
18. PUBLICITY & USE OF PARTICIPANT INFORMATION
By participating in a Cryptic Ink® giveaway, you grant Cryptic Ink® permission, to the extent permitted by law, to use your name, participant name, social media username, participant status, winner status, prize information, and information reasonably related to your participation for the administration, documentation, announcement, and promotion of the giveaway.
This permission may include, without limitation:
- Participant listings;
- Winner announcements;
- Prize announcements;
- Giveaway results;
- Cryptic Ink® website content;
- Social media posts;
- Promotional graphics;
- Promotional announcements;
- Photographs voluntarily submitted or taken in connection with the prize;
- Participant-submitted giveaway content; and
- Future content referencing or documenting the giveaway.
You acknowledge that your participation in the giveaway, your status as a participant, your status as a winner, and the prize awarded may be publicly disclosed.
To the extent permitted by law, such use may occur without additional notice, approval, or compensation beyond the prize itself.
Nothing in these rules requires Cryptic Ink® to publicly disclose private contact information such as your personal email address, telephone number, home address, or other nonpublic account information.
19. THIRD-PARTY SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS
A Cryptic Ink® giveaway may be advertised or involve tasks associated with third-party platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, or other social networks.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Cryptic Ink® giveaways are not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with those third-party platforms.
By participating, entrants release applicable third-party social media platforms from responsibility relating to the administration of the Cryptic Ink® giveaway to the extent permitted by their applicable terms and law.
Participants must comply with the rules and terms of any third-party platform being used.
Cryptic Ink® will not knowingly require a participant to complete an action that is prohibited by the rules of the applicable platform.
If a platform changes, restricts, removes, or prevents a particular giveaway task, Cryptic Ink® may remove or replace that task as reasonably necessary.
20. TECHNICAL PROBLEMS
Cryptic Ink® is not responsible for technical problems outside its reasonable control, including internet outages, browser issues, social network outages, platform API failures, deleted third-party content, account restrictions, email delivery failures, server interruptions, corrupted submissions, or other technical conditions that may affect participation.
If a technical problem affects the integrity of a giveaway, Cryptic Ink® may take reasonable corrective action, including restoring entries, removing erroneous entries, extending a deadline, replacing a task, temporarily suspending the giveaway, or restarting a drawing when necessary to maintain fairness.
Discovery of a technical problem does not give participants permission to exploit it.
Knowingly exploiting a bug, error, vulnerability, or unintended behavior to obtain additional entries is considered manipulation and may result in disqualification.
21. MODIFICATION, SUSPENSION OR CANCELLATION
Cryptic Ink® reserves the right to modify, suspend, extend, postpone, or cancel a giveaway when reasonably necessary because of:
- Fraud;
- Abuse;
- Manipulation;
- Technical failures;
- Security issues;
- Platform restrictions;
- Legal or regulatory requirements;
- Events outside Cryptic Ink®'s reasonable control; or
- Other circumstances that materially interfere with the fair administration of the giveaway.
When practical, material changes will be posted on the giveaway page or otherwise communicated to participants.
Cryptic Ink® will make reasonable efforts to administer giveaways fairly and consistently.
22. RELEASE & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, by participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Cryptic Ink®, its owners, employees, artists, contractors, representatives, and agents from claims arising solely from participation in the giveaway, administration of the giveaway, or the acceptance or use of a prize, except for claims or rights that cannot legally be waived.
Service-based prizes remain subject to the separate consent forms, disclosures, health requirements, releases, and studio policies ordinarily applicable to the service being performed.
These giveaway rules do not replace any consent or acknowledgment required before receiving tattooing, piercing, or another regulated or professional service.
23. PRIVACY
Information provided for a giveaway may be used to administer the giveaway, verify entries, contact participants, select and notify winners, prevent fraud, maintain giveaway records, and comply with legal obligations.
Participation in a giveaway does not, by itself, constitute consent to unrelated marketing communications where separate consent is required by law.
Information may also be handled in accordance with the Cryptic Ink® Privacy Policy.
24. PARTICIPANT CONDUCT
Giveaways are supposed to be fun.
Threatening, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, fraudulent, or seriously disruptive behavior toward Cryptic Ink® staff, artists, other participants, or members of the public in connection with a giveaway may result in disqualification.
Disagreeing with a verification decision does not itself constitute misconduct.
Participants are welcome to respectfully contact Cryptic Ink® regarding a legitimate error.
Harassment, threats, repeated abuse, or attempts to intimidate staff into awarding entries or prizes will not be tolerated.
25. DECISIONS OF CRYPTIC INK®
Cryptic Ink® is responsible for administering its giveaways, verifying entries, interpreting these rules, and determining eligibility.
Cryptic Ink® will make such determinations reasonably, consistently, and in good faith.
Decisions concerning entry validity, rule violations, disqualification, winner verification, and prize eligibility are final to the extent permitted by law.
Cryptic Ink® may correct an obvious administrative, clerical, or technical mistake after a decision has been made.
26. GOVERNING LAW
These Official Giveaway Rules and Cryptic Ink® giveaways are governed by applicable federal law and, to the extent applicable, the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Nothing in these rules eliminates or limits any consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.
27. INDIVIDUAL GIVEAWAY TERMS CONTROL
Each giveaway may contain additional information including:
- Giveaway start date;
- Giveaway closing date and time;
- Prize description;
- Approximate retail value, when applicable;
- Number of prizes;
- Eligible tasks;
- Entry limits;
- Geographic restrictions;
- Redemption deadlines;
- Selection method; and
- Additional prize-specific conditions.
Those giveaway-specific terms are incorporated into these Official Rules.
If a giveaway-specific term directly conflicts with these General Giveaway Rules, the more specific term displayed for that giveaway will control for that giveaway only.
28. FINAL WORD
Cryptic Ink® giveaways exist to give something back to the people who follow, support, interact with, and participate in what we do.
Every legitimate task gets its shot.
Every verified entry counts.
Staff reviews the entries—not a blind automated approval system—so verification may take a little time.
If you participate legitimately, there is nothing complicated about it.
If you try to manipulate the system, manufacture entries, fake tasks, exploit bugs, or cheat your way to the top, expect your entries to disappear—and potentially your ability to participate in Cryptic Ink® giveaways along with them.
Keep it real. Keep it fair. Let the giveaway do the rest.
